Another start and another flower :)

I decided to start the Beehive Sampler from Garden Verses by The Prairie Schooler today. This is one of the leaflets I pulled while doing some stash organizing last week :) I have long wanted to stitch this one :) It's coming along nicely and I am enjoying it.

I also stitched another flower on The Industrious Bee Sampler :) Thank you all for your comments about this one. Yes, the colors are amazing in this sampler and it's a joy to stitch :)

And what was calling the loudest ??? :)

Industrious Bee Sampler from Theron Traditions. I started it this morning and I am loving it. I fell in love with this one instantly when I found it online and ordered it from Amy. It only took a minute to decide to start it. :)

I decided to pull out another WIP to work on a bit while waiting on my order from Amy to arrive. I started the last scarecrow (winter scarecrow) on A Time for Everything. My order from Amy did arrive today and I will probably pull something from it or the huge pile I pulled from my stash last week :)
This is where I was previously on A Time For Everything.
Please excuse the wrinkles :)

May I present Liberty Tin in all it's glory (well as much glory as it can be in without being finished into the sewing box :) )

Hello Everyone :)I finished Liberty Tin today :) I must admit this one has a LOT more stitching in it than it looks...the finished size is 9.5 x 9 and it is solid stitches. My hubby kept commenting that there was no way it was going to fit on the suggested tin and that it was big enough to run up the flagpole :) LOL! I REALLY enjoyed this one though and could not put it down to work on anything else :) I still need to pick up the star buttons before I can do the finishing work on it :) I omitted one motif as I just didn't like it. I stitched it in and ripped it out as I didn't care for it at all...I think it was suppose to be a crown and it was suppose to be stitched under my initials.

Sheila-yes, I have my scissors displayed in bowls with glass stones :) I have 3 different bowls done this way full of scissors :)

Barbara-OOOH...you are tempting me with the invitation to join you all on the Noah SAL (is it an informal SAL or do you have set days to stitch ???) ...let me think on it a day or so- I haven't decided yet what I want to work on next. I have an order coming from Amy tomorrow and with the PILE I have pulled from last week's organizing of my stash I don't know what to start next :) WOW, I could have worse decisions huh??? LOL!!!

Vonna, I am not sure what I am going to start next...so many BEAUTIES being shared in blogland it makes me want to start them all :) Including your new start This is The Day :) I am LOVING everyones progress on this piece :) I have a bunch of SB's I want to start too....I guess it will be whatever is calling the loudest :)

Thank you as always for visiting my blog, for your comments and emails :) I appreciate it so much. And thank you to my new readers/commenter's :) It's very nice to meet you :) Please do come again :)

Contest Winner, picture of box and update on Liberty Tin

Finally, nice weather so I could stain the box and do the finishing today :) I want to thank everyone that left a comment to have a chance in the draw. Through this contest I have made several new friends that emailed me that I didn't know read my blog :) It has been a pleasure getting to know you :)
My mom drew the name for me and the winner is Julianne. Congratulations, Julianne. I hope you will like the stitching box :) I will do my best to get it mailed to you next week :)
I love the way it finished up. I chose a "stitching" related print to line the box with.

Here is the stitched piece :) I thought you all might like to see it before I did the finishing :) I finished the stitching today and will work on the actual finishing this weekend :) I love how it turned out :) I replaced the initials with the year :) I thought that was best as I don't know who the winner is yet :) There is still time to enter your name :) PLEASE do so on the original post. I will draw a name once the sewing box is completed :)

6 Bucks Framed !!:)

I just love a bargain. I am always going to consignment and Antique shops on the lookout for anything I can use in finishing my cross stitch :) I think outside the box and come up with some wonderful treasures to assist me in finishing work :) Today however I was on a specific mission to find some "CHEAP" frames for some of my latest finishes and I found a pair for $6.00-boy I couldn't pass that up and was the perfect size for Victoria's Quaker and they are REALLY well made and nicely detailed frames:) Of course I had to dispose of the floral print that was in it (the lady couldn't believe I was going to do that..LOL-but once I explained she felt better about the lovely print being replaced by my cross stitch :)) I framed it this afternoon and honestly I am so thrilled with it :) I took several pics and just could not get a decent one...so here are a few-maybe one of them will allow you to see how lovely this looks framed :)

Victoria's Quaker Revisited :)

Some of you will remember I stitched Victoria's Quaker back in 2007 and I made a booboo on the large heart motif and was undecided about what to do. I pulled it out tonight and decided to "fudge" the motifs that go inside the heart so they would fit into my heart. I am HAPPY I did this as I think it still looks amazing and if I didn't know I had made a booboo on the large heart I would never know by looking at it now :)
I also decided to do something a little different and add the Numerals to the bottom of my sampler :)
I can officially call this one finished now :) And maybe it can go to the framer's next month for framing special :)Unless I can find a frame long enough :)

Self-Framed :) **Edited to answer Kim**

The more I thought about Gift Of Peace the more I knew I wanted to frame it myself in a lovely frame I have had for quite some time and have been wanting to use:) I just love the detail in this frame and I think it looks just wonderful :)

Kim-when I frame anything, I always stretch and block my stitched piece by using an iron to make sure the FABRIC is back to the shape it was before I started stitching (fabrics can become distorted when stitching). I center it, measuring all distances with a ruler to make sure I am centered and then I LACE my piece of stitching on the mounting surface I am using. Lacing allows you to center it even moreso if needed. Then add it to the frame :) HTH :)

Thank you so much to those that have awarded me with Blog awards-I appreciate you thinking of me and my blog worthy-please do not be offended as I do not do Awards and/or Tags due to a past incident :) Thanks for your understanding :) :)

Seasonal Exchange for Amy :)

This is my stitched part of Amy's Seasonal exchange :) I stitched Dewdrop for Amy as she adores bunnies and I just thought this one was too cute. I modified it a bit to make it more Amy. I left off the Easter eggs as well as the pink flowers in the corners. I finished it as a pin pillow :)

Oh, I am getting close on this one :) I was able to get quite a bit more stitched on him today :) I hope you aren't tired of seeing him yet :) I think I am going to stay with it until it is finished :) I still have to add the ribbon to the greenery on the left side and I do have quite a bit of filling in among the green-you know those a little bit of this green here and there and a little bit of that green here and there :) I also have to do the gold throughout his sash as well as the gold at the top of the greenery and then finish off the stems that are in the basket :) Not too much but enough to keep me busy tomorrow :)

I can't thank you all enough for your comments :) You are just so sweet and you really can't know how very much I appreciate you visiting with me :) YOU All INSPIRE ME TO STITCH !!! THANK YOU :)
Please come again :)
